"The Snow Goat"
64" x 41" oil on panel
The image of an animal/human predates history and represents longing for connection to nature.
I marvel at the animals in nature, faster, stronger, acute senses of
sight hearing and smell. The dogs and cats in my own home seem to possess a sixth sense of situational awareness..
I however, am a collection of limitations, failing faculties and confusion at the world.
Ancient cultures saw god in the human image with animal characteristics.
We humans see ourselves as different from the other animals.
We see our selves as living out side the natural world and by this we feel alone.
We are not part of the beauty of nature.
We are trapped between the gods we dream of and the natural world we are no longer
